CSU-Pueblo Football Team Chaplin “Steve Chavez”

Long-time friend of Coach John Wristen and new CSU-Pueblo team Chaplin Steve Chavez, delivered an inspiring message Saturday afternoon during the football team’s chapel service. Players and coaches were blessed by Pastor Steve message and were challenged to be a leader not only on the field, but on the campus of CSU-Pueblo. Also, Pastor Steve passed out Fellowship of Christian Athlete’s Bibles to any player who needed one for the season. Coach John Wristen commented that his team was blessed to have Pastor Steve as the spiritual leader for his players and coaches.
After the first game, Pastor Steve has led two football players to Christ and has introduced the Bible Study “Winning God’s Way” to long-time FCA supporter, Coach Steve Sewell. Pastor Steve gave several copies of Winning God’s Way to Coach Sewell to use with his players. “Jesus is really doing incredible work with the CSU-Pueblo Football Team and I am just so blessed to part of it” Pastor Steve said the morning he led a young football plalyer to Christ. CSU-Pueblo Football Team Chaplin Steve Chavez
Steve serves as an associate pastor at Praise Assembly in Pueblo, Colorado. Steve gives direct oversight to an exciting ministry to young adults in their 20s and 30s called Elev8. The mission of Elev8 is to Believe, Belong, and Become. Our aim is to see this generation encounter Jesus in an intimate way.
Steve is married to his hero, Bonnie. Their marriage is strong because their faith in Jesus is strong. They have three incredible boys: Steven, Jordan, and Terren.
Steve has been blessed to be able to travel and preach outside the borders of Praise Assembly. Steve enjoys speaking at youth camps, conventions and revival meetings across America.
Our time is NOW! Let the church arise and reap the harvest of souls is the cry of Steve’s heart.
